We enjoy living in this neighborhood. It is very green and you can easily walk to the Natureluur, a beautiful park with a (water) playground. Here you will also find the Nature Room, where you can have a cup of coffee or an ice cream in the summer. Many activities are also organized here such as Open Stage evenings with music or theater performances for children. During school vacations there are also many outdoor activities.
If you walk or bike a little further, you will reach the Sloterplas. Here is a city beach and we ourselves like to go to restaurant Buiten. You’ll also find a swimming pool and gym here.
In our neighborhood there is a good mix of rental and owner-occupied housing. In recent years, more and more young couples and families have moved in and renovated their homes. We have pleasant contact in the neighborhood and sometimes a neighborhood day is organized.
There are many plans in New West to renovate existing rental housing and build new rental and for-sale housing. Among others in the Rousseau neighborhood, which borders our district.

What we ourselves have loved about living in the Thomas a Kempisstraat is that you can still enjoy the facilities of a big city and be back in the city by bike or streetcar in no time, but at the same time relax at home. Especially sitting in the garden, overlooking the greenery and the water.
