The property: The apartment was thoroughly remodeled in 2010/2011 and has been rearranged making the most of every square meter. The home features new installations, underfloor heating, insulated glass, bathroom, kitchen, ceilings, wall and floor finishes and many smart storage spaces. When you first enter the apartment, immediately the ceiling height and the amount of light will positively surprise you. Large windows at the front and rear create a spacious effect, while the layout creates different spaces in the home. The custom-made kitchen is the beating heart. In addition to plenty of work and storage space, the kitchen is equipped with all amenities including; a dishwasher, 5-burner stove incorporated into the countertop, range hood, oven and a refrigerator with freezer (three drawers). The living room is wonderfully bright and the roof terrace looks attractive. Located on the southwest you can enjoy the upcoming summer days and evenings here. The loft effect is further emphasized by the “height” of the bathroom. It is equipped with a toilet, sink cabinet, heated mirror, walk-in shower and separate bathtub. How wonderful and unique it is to have a view of your living room and roof terrace from the bathtub. Environment: The neighborhood has a mixed age and family structure. There are many nice cafes and restaurants, and basically everything you need can be found nearby. For example, there are several supermarkets within walking distance, as well as artisanal bakeries, butchers, a cheese store and some good wine stores. All the fun that Amsterdam has to offer is within biking distance. For example, you can bike to Dam Square or Paradiso in 15 minutes. Within walking distance are 3 fine parks: Park Frankendael, Flevopark and Oosterpark for a more urban atmosphere with a paddling pool. No matter which way you walk, you always come across fun new things. The CoE is healthy and active. There is a multi-year maintenance plan and the contribution is € 146 per month. Our apartment is located in the Watergraafsmeerpolder, which was reclaimed in 1629. In the 17th and 18th centuries, many wealthy Amsterdammers built estates in Watergraafsmeer, of which only Frankendael remains. A well-known historical building is the Rechthuys on the corner with the Ringdijk, through which Napoleon entered Amsterdam in 1811. What I like about this part of Amsterdam is that it is not a tourist area, most people live there, and with great pleasure. The neighborhood has a mixed age and family structure, home to families with children as well as young couples and students, as well as a number of over-65s who have often lived in the neighborhood their entire lives. There are many nice cafes and restaurants, and basically everything you need is available nearby. Thus, within walking distance there are 7 supermarkets: 4 well-stocked branches of large chains, 2 ecological and 1 large halal supermarket. But artisan bakers, butchers, a cheese store and a number of good wine stores and liquor stores are also just around the corner. We really enjoy watching the vibrancy of the stretch of shopping street outside our door from the dining table next to our window. Our favorite store is Linnaeus bookstore across the street where they sell a good assortment of Dutch and English-language novels, and also stock many good cooking, art and non-fiction books. All the fun that Amsterdam has to offer is within biking distance. For example, you can bike to Dam Square or Paradiso in 15 minutes. What we also really like is that on this side of town you are very quickly “outside”: In 10 minutes by bike you are in the vast Diemerpark near IJburg waana you so near Weesp in the polder cycling, and also in the vicinity of Diemen you quickly cycling through greenery. Within walking distance are 3 fine parks: Frankendaelpark, Flevopark with 2 large playgrounds and liqueur distillery Het Nieuwe Diep, and Oosterpark for a more urban atmosphere with a paddling pool, tango lessons in the bandstand and roller skaters. No matter which way you walk, you always come across fun new things.
