Omschrijving
Welcome to this beautiful, move-in ready home in a picturesque and quiet street with lots of greenery and the characteristic Amsterdam School architecture. Just a stone’s throw from the lively Jan Evertsenstraat. To live here is to enjoy the tranquility of a charming residential area, with the dynamics of the city around the corner. I would love to invite you for a viewing.
The apartment was renovated from top to toe in 2020 with attention to comfort, style and layout. Among other things, the ceiling was renewed and insulated, the plumbing and electrics were addressed, the kitchen was moved to the front and renewed, and the walls and ceilings were tightly plastered and painted. The bathroom was also modernized in 2023 – a home you can move right into!
The layout is thoughtful and functional: at the front is the wide, bright living room with open kitchen. Thanks to the three tilt-and-turn windows and double glazing, lots of natural light enters here. The modern kitchen is a real eye-catcher, with a cooking island and cozy bar. Furthermore, the kitchen is equipped with an induction hob, extractor hood, dishwasher, combination oven and fridge-freezer. The clever layout provides plenty of work and storage space, and the recessed spotlights finish it off stylishly.
In the center of the home is a generous hallway, ideal for extra closet space or possibly a home office. The bathroom is compact but practical with a shower, sink and toilet – beautifully finished and ready for daily comfort.
To the rear are two well-sized bedrooms, both with access to the sunny west-facing balcony. The master bedroom offers space for a double bed as well as a large closet. The balcony is a nice outdoor space with plenty of sun in the afternoon and evening. The two balcony closets provide additional storage space; in one of them is the washing machine beautifully hidden, with possible space for the central heating system.
Area:
This charming apartment is located in a quiet, green street, right on the border of De Baarsjes and Bos en Lommer, with a beautiful view of the Erasmus Park. Around the corner you will find the lively Jan Evertsenstraat, full of trendy stores, cozy eateries and trendy cafes. The neighborhood also offers numerous cozy coffee bars and for your daily shopping you can go to both the Bos and Lommerplein and the Mercatorplein, both within walking distance.
Within 10 minutes by bike you are in the bustling Jordaan or reach the popular hotspot De Hallen in Oud-West. The A10 ring road can be reached within 5 to 10 minutes by car, and various public transport options (streetcar, bus, metro) are a short distance away. This makes stations such as Sloterdijk and Lelylaan easily and quickly accessible, both by public transport and by bicycle (in 10 to 15 minutes).

Verkoper verteld over de buurt
What can you tell about the neighborhood? What makes the neighborhood so nice? Think about stores, restaurants, parks, etc.
Things have really gotten nicer and nicer here in recent years. In the Mercatorstraat itself you notice that neighbors look each other up more with neighbourhood day, or once a quarter we roll up our sleeves together to clean the neighborhood (we are going for the prize ‘cleanest street of the Baarsjes’). Next September 6 we will have our first own neighborhood party in Mercatorstraat! It’s very friendly, nice and quiet and incredibly green. Erasmuspark, Rembrandtpark are just around the corner. But Vondelpark and Sloterplas also very close by. Cooling and nature are never far away in the city in this neighborhood, but with bus 15 you are in Sloterdijk in 10 minutes and from there again in no time in Zandvoort! I find the location really great, with a few minutes by bike you are in the center or the Jordaan, but also by car you are on the highway.
Furthermore, in recent years hospitality and small one-man businesses have really increased. The Jan Eef has all these nice little stores or craft stores. Delicious coffee or fresh sandwiches for in between on a work-at-home day, and the coziness on Mercatorplein is literally walking down the street. The nice thing about this place is that you can choose; if you want to look for the hustle and bustle you will find it around the corner on the Jan Eef, or if you want to go for a nice walk you can go to the park.
