Within walking distance you will find nice eateries and cafes: Bar Bonnie and Bar Cafe Louis Davids are fine newcomers, but Van Mechelen, Gent aan de Schinkel, Drovers Dog, Lokaal van de Stad and Bédier are also favorites. The Vondelpark is just around the corner. Hoofddorpplein is super nice with many local business owners, as well as several supermarkets nearby. There are several gyms and you are close to nature and the water of the Schinkel, the Amsterdamse Bos, and the Nieuwe Meer and all the sports facilities (tennis, soccer, squash) around the Olympic Stadium.
