For more than 20 years I have lived and worked in Amsterdam. No neighborhood and no neighborhood is foreign to me. To be perfectly honest, I am in love with this beautiful city. So it was from this feeling that I started my career as a real estate agent. Successfully, my sense of real estate and working with people have made Realtor in Amsterdam a success. Be sure to read through our customer reviews. On Funda we score a 9.1! The service, preparation, photos and presentation stand out. In addition, we always keep our appointments. I and my colleagues at the real estate agency dedicate ourselves as Broker Amsterdam Oost for both sales, purchases and rentals. We’ll explain this more in a moment. First, a bit about Amsterdam East.
Oost is the part of Amsterdam located east of the Singelgracht canal. The western boundary is the Amstel River; the southern boundary is the Ringvaart around Watergraafsmeer. Construction of the eastern city expansions began in the last quarter of the 19th century, with the construction of theOosterparkbuurt and the Dapperbuurt. Oud-Oost also consists of the neighborhood along Weesperzijde. Recently, the Oostpoort neighborhood was added on the site of the former Oostergasfabriek.
After 1900, construction of the Indian neighborhood also began. Between 1920 and 1940, new town extensions, partly on the territory of the former municipality of Nieuwer Amstel, were built. These include the Transvaal neighborhood and the Indische Buurt. Since 1987/1990, these neighborhoods have formed the East District. The Indische buurt was part of the Zeeburg district until April 30, 2010.
To improve access to these new neighborhoods, the East Railroad Works were carried out between 1932 and 1942. In the process, the low-lying railroad tracks were elevated on embankments and level crossings could be replaced by viaducts. The old Weesperpoort station from 1843 was closed on Oct. 15, 1939, and replaced by the Amstel station opened on the same day. The neighborhoods “behind” the railroad were now more accessible. Several streetcar lines could be extended here in the years 1939 to 1942.
Urban expansions also occurred in the Watergraafsmeer municipality annexed in 1921 in the 1920s. The Watergraafsmeer district was established in 1987. In 1998, the Oost and Watergraafsmeer districts were merged into the Oost/Watergraafsmeer district. In the Zeeburg district, the new neighborhoods in the Oostelijk Havengebied were built in the 1990s, and since 2002, IJburg has been under construction, originally also referred to as “Nieuw-Oost. Zeeburgereiland is still being developed into a new site for housing.
In March 2007, East was designated as a problem neighborhood, this particularly related to the Transvaal neighborhood and the Indische buurt(Vogelaar’s 40 neighborhoods), so they received extra attention and money. This played out so long ago and is limited to a few neighborhoods, however, that it shouldn’t stop you from considering Amsterdam East. Do you still have doubts? You can always schedule a conversation with us without obligation. As you note, we also know this side of town well.
Buying or selling a home is an exciting event and probably one you won’t do often. Thoughts about the price and duration of selling your home will come to mind. The fees charged by a real estate agent, also known as brokerage fees, can vary greatly from one another. Research the costs carefully before you encounter unpleasant surprises. One broker charges a high brokerage fee with no start-up fee and another broker charges a low brokerage fee but with a start-up fee. There are also real estate agents who screen with a low brokerage fee but later surface hidden costs such as a placement on Funda, a photo report or termination fees when you want to end the agreement with your real estate agent.
Only Realtor in Amsterdam uses a fixed competitive brokerage fee when selling your home. No more doing complicated things like 1.5% of sales price excluding VAT…………No, one fixed fair amount. No additional or hidden costs and always inclusive of VAT. Clear and transparent. Want to know more about selling? Then check out Read what we can do for you as a sales agent in Amsterdam.
